Banowsky
has been representing governmental and private sector clients for more than fifteen years.
Mr. Banowsky's diverse experience includes representing governmental clients in all areas of municipal and governmental
law. Such representation also includes a wide array of complex litigation matters such as construction and development disputes,
contractual disputes, zoning and condemnation litigation, tort claims and civil rights litigation and open meetings and
open records disputes. Mr. Banowsky is also a lecturer on municipal law topics.
Mr. Banowsky's experience also includes the representation of private sector clients
in insurance coverage disputes, shareholder/partnership disputes, construction
litigation, contractual disputes, securities litigation, products liability litigation and family
law matters.
Mr. Banowsky also represents creditors in collection matters including complex
chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and adversary proceedings.
Mr. Banowsky holds an undergraduate degree in
Mechanical Engineering and is registered to practice before the U.S.
Patent & Trademark Office. Accordingly, Mr. Banowsky also
represents clients before the U.S.P.T.O.
A sixth generation Texan, Mr.
Banowsky was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1965. Mr. Banowsky graduated in
1989 from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of science degree
in mechanical engineering. After graduation, Mr. Banowsky attended the
Southern Methodist University School of Law, graduating Cum Laude and
a member of the Order of the Coif in 1992. While at SMU, Mr. Banowsky
served as the Citations Editor of the Southwestern Law
Journal.
Mr. Banowsky was admitted to the
State Bar of Texas in November 1992. He is also admitted to practice
before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern,
Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the Eastern District of
Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit;
and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Banowsky has been a member of
the SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors since 2001. The SMU Athletic
Forum sponsors the Doak Walker Award and the Doak Walker Legends

Mr. Banowsky is an ex-officio member
of the Community Services Foundation Board of Directors and currently
acts as its past President. Mr. Banowsky was the CSF Board President during 2007. The Community Services Foundation is a
non-profit foundation which works with local HVAC contractors and
suppliers to help provide heating and air conditioning equipment and
services for poor and elderly residents of North Texas.

Mr. Banowsky is a member
of the Board of Directors of the Grace Academy of Dallas. Grace
Academy assists Christian families in meeting the educational and
spiritual needs of their children. (
